Marvelous Makeover - March 2008

Before

Nova Vita stylist Jenny Storey wanted to give Beth Blakney’s hair colour a boost, so she used a copper hue to deepen the existing colour and add shine. A few panels of golden blonde colour were used to add dimension and create shine. The blend of these colours helps to emphasize Beth’s blue eyes as well as compliment her skin tone. “I know she is going to enjoy the shine. Her old colour was very faded and dull. A fresh hair colour can have such an impact on the overall look,” says Storey, who is the salon’s newest stylist and offers 10 years of experience for clients.

Beth has never worn makeup so Brittney wanted to keep things nice and simple. She used a light application of foundation and a soft plum-coloured blush to brighten Beth’s cheeks. For eyes, earth tone colours were used to add depth and make Beth’s eyes pop.

For the cut, the decision was to give Beth a new sculpted look with a long, layered bob and side fringe. This new style gives Beth’s hair body and movement and highlights her facial features.
